Strategic Partner Business Development Manager

This position can be located in New York, San Francisco, Boston or elsewhere in the USA

Interactyx is seeking an experienced deal maker who can bring their business development and strategic selling skills to develop complex, revenue-focused partner relationships for our growing Media & Publishing team.

In this high-visibility role you will be responsible for identifying, structuring, negotiating and closing revenue-generating relationships with publishers and content providers. You will use the Nexus product portfolio, as well as other Interactyx products and services you identify as relevant to the partners' specific requirements. You will need to be able to sell these services and solutions to CxO level executives and to negotiate deals with senior managers, through your comprehensive experience of technology, strategic planning, financial analysis and contractual law. Post-execution, as part of a wider team, you will be responsible for ensuring that these partners achieve specific account-based objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, structuring, negotiating and closing revenue-generating relationships with leading prospects.
  • Managing pipeline of multiple prospects to aggressive deadlines and successful resolution.
  • Identifying emerging market trends and translating these to prospects.
  • Working cross-functionally within Interactyx to ensure that revenue targets and account-based objectives are achieved.

 Requirements:

  • BA/BS or equivalent required, MBA a plus.
  • High level of experience in partner management, product management or product marketing with an Internet content provider or textbook publisher.
  • Understanding of online and traditional publishing
  • Revenue focused, including solid history of revenue building successes.
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills across contractual, technical and financial areas.
  • Sector experience in any of the following areas: newspaper, consumer and B2B publishing, broadcast media, web portals, social networks and entertainment companies.
  • High level of comfort escalating and presenting key deal issues to Interactyx senior management.
  • Well-established network of relevant industry contacts.
  • Strong understanding of and interest in the impact of Internet technologies on consumption of media and interactive learning across America.
  • Project management experience and ability to handle multiple time-sensitive projects.
  • Ability to quickly understand contracts with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to think strategically.
  • Track record of excellent partner communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Internet software, Learning Management Systems, SCORM, XML and JavaScript a plus.
  • Strong applications experience (MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
