Calling all economics students with a camera and an imagination: it’s time to make a celebrity of Sam.
Who? It’s Sam, the mascot for interactive learning software, LiveEcon, and he is your ticket to a brand new iPod, if you get snapping.
Winning an iPod couldn’t be simpler: all you need to do is take a photo of Sam in an economics-related situation – the more unusual the better. So perhaps a snap of Sam talking taxation with your favourite economics lecturer, debating government spending with Gordon Brown, or even Sam skiing down a Phillips curve could be a winner? It’s entirely up to you – so get your thinking caps on!
It’s easy. Go to the MySam website at www.mysam.co.uk where you can download, build and then upload your Sam. Once your photo is uploaded, the kind folk at Interactyx, the boffins behind LiveEcon, will pick their favourite, which bags an iPod. There’s an additional prize for the first person who can make MySam a TV star and get him on the box. Again, be creative, but make sure it’s not Crimewatch!
Deadline for entries for the first competition is March 31.
Sam is the mascot for LiveEcon, a fully interactive economics learning tool that is designed with undergraduates in mind. With a unique model that lets you see the immediate effects different variables have on the economy, it brings real understanding and life to the study of economics.
